Marrakech-Ménara airport is a fifteen-minute drive away. We arrange the transfer on request, to be booked the day before. By taxi, expect 100 to 150 MAD: give the address “Bab Aylen, derb Aghrab” and call us when you arrive — a member of the family will meet you at the entrance of the lane.
Cars do not enter the derb, as everywhere in the Marrakech medina. The taxi drops you at the entrance of the lane, two minutes’ walk from the door, and we carry the bags.
Jemaa el-Fna square is a fifteen-minute walk away, via Riad Zitoun or rue Bab Aylen. The souks begin just behind it. We give you an annotated map of the medina when you arrive.
Yes, it is included with every room and served from 8 to 11 am on the roof terrace: msemen and baghrir made that morning, Berber eggs, homemade jams, fresh juices and mint tea. The table changes every day.
Dinner is served at 8 pm, booked before 4 pm the same day. A single three-course menu, put together at the market that morning: cooked salads, tagine or couscous, homemade pastries. Expect 250 MAD per person, 130 MAD for children.
Yes, a pool edged with zellige at the centre of the patio, in the shade of the columns: it is the coolest place in the house when Marrakech goes past forty degrees. It is not heated.
Children are welcome. Extra bed on request, a less spicy version of the dishes, and two suites with a separate bedroom. The riad is an old house: zellige staircases and terraces with low parapets, to be watched with young children.
Yes, the ten rooms can be booked together, with the kitchen of the house, the patio and the roof terrace: a wedding, a birthday, a retreat or a large family. Write to us and we will build the stay with you.
